I Read It — September

September 29, 2009 by Jennifer

Have you read a book that we reviewed here (on this site or in our weekly column on 5 Minutes for Mom)?

Here’s your chance to let us know! Perhaps you liked it, as we did, or maybe you were a bit disappointed.

Write up a new review on your site and leave the link, or give us the links of reviews you’ve published since our last 5th-Tuesday “I Read It” carnival in June.

Just leave your link, or a comment with a short review or your thoughts, right in the comment field below.

Join in our upcoming community events (there’s something every Tuesday):

  • October 6 — Bookclub: Rooftops of Tehran.
  • October 13 — Children’s Classics: Re-read a childhood favorite (I can’t wait for this–both to read and read others’ thoughts)
  • October 20 — Kids’ Picks
  • October 27 — What’s on Your Nightstand

Check out our current giveaways. Subscribe to our feed. Follow us @5M4B on Twitter.

I hope it’s okay that I read and reviewed The Mysterious Benedict Society. 5MB doesn’t have a review for it, but Carrie did review its sequel here. It was the collected enthusiasm of ALL the reviews I read (including Carrie’s exuberance over the sequel) that encouraged me to read it. Here’s the link—>

Off course that’s ok, Amy! =)

As for what *I* read this month – I read Journey to the Well which was suggested and reviewed by Melissa. Here is the link to that:

I also read “How Do I Love Thee?” which was suggested by Lisa. Here is the link to that:

I read Rooftops of Tehran. I know it’s coming up as the next book club selection, so I plan to post about it then. Thanks for recommending it, Jennifer!

Hi. First time commenter here! Love your blog!
I read Rooftops of Tehran (loved it) and Sarah’s Key (loved it). Both are the kind of book you just can’t put down! My TBR list has grown tremendously since I began visiting your blog about two months or so ago. Thank you! And thanks for getting me hooked on finding/taking the time to read again. I feel like I am back with a long lost friend when I take some me time to sit and read!

I used your site to pick a book for my first book club venture, The Middle Place. I wasn’t too sure how it would go over but the ladies still rave about it. I am going to suggest The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on Thursday.
