The Secret Lives of Princesses

March 13, 2010 by Dawn

Sterling Books is releasing an entirely one-of-a-kind book later this year in Philippe Lechermeier’s The Secret Lives of Princesses. Focusing on lesser known princesses with a wide variety of backgrounds and personalities, it’s an adventure in tongue-in-cheek humor and information galore. While it’s still a little early to review the book for you, (you’ll have to wait until May for that!), I am happy to draw your attention to the pre-release information available online, as well as offer the opportunity to win some promotional materials!

The official site, The Secret Lives of Princesses, has three of the princesses revealed already, with a fourth making her appearance on March 15th. (One of the three available now, who also graces the cover of the book, just happens to remind me of my almost 4 year old red-headed daughter: Princess Hot-Head. Oh yeah.) If you want even more updates, you can become a fan on their Facebook page, Being a Princess, as well.

The special offer for even more fun are the promotional puzzle card packs for The Secret Lives of Princesses. With seven princesses highlighted on these cards, there’s also a logic puzzle to solve that reveals a code to unlock a hidden page on the site! We’re happy to offer TEN packs to giveaway to 5 Minutes for Books readers. Just leave a comment here to enter. We will announce the winners in our regular giveaway posting on 3/24.

This giveaway is now closed. Check out our current giveaways. Subscribe to our feed. Follow us @5M4B on Twitter.

Dawn found herself identifying with several of the princesses in this book, usually the more wacky ones! Her wackiness is on full display on her blog, my thoughts exactly.

I live in Israel and work at the local library.

This charming book has been available in the Hebrew for about a year and it is a raging success among our younger patrons and their parents!

Definitely an entertaining change from the standard fairy/princess fodder.
