As you know, 5 Minutes for Mom is our parent site. There have been quite a few bookish posts there lately that I wanted to be sure you haven’t missed. And if you have, there’s no time like the present to click through and enjoy:
1. When Kyle was a young early reader, getting him to read was a challenge. One of the first series that hooked his interest was Ricky Ricotta. Kyle and I made a video post in honor of its all new release in full color, so go ahead and watch us embarrass ourselves as we try to sound smart and look cute (at least those were my goals).
2. 5 Minutes for Mom writer Bonnie Way recommends 10 Books for Armchair Travel, set in Canada, Scotland, Russia, China, South Africa and more.
3. Our own Nancy wrote a post borne from her own experience that features 5 Tips to Hook a Reluctant Reader.
4. I love that special niche of books that are targeted specifically to that older middle grade reader from 11 – 14 years old. Please check out 10 Books for Middle School Boys, and let me know if you have other suggestions!
I was also pleased to interview two authors, who both weighed in on movie adaptations of their novels:
5. Johnathan Tropper shares about This is Where I Leave You
6. Nicholas Sparks on love stories (The Best of Me movie)
I also just shared a post over there featuring some of our best guest posts from authors that we’ve published here at 5 Minutes for Books. Some are old, some are new, and they are all incredible. Find out what 5 authors have to say on the Importance of Reading.
