My 16-year-old daughter fell in love with Captain America. Then she started reading comics, which makes sense because she has always loved art. She’s all about girl power, so it was no surprise to me when I asked her to name 5 comics, 4 of them featured women. When I pointed that out, she shared a 5th that sticks with the theme.
We’ve had a superhero summer, with her wanting to share her love of all-things Marvel with us. My 10-year-old son is getting on board as well. Because she jumped at my opportunity to see Guardians of the Galaxy early, I went, even though I wasn’t particularly excited about it, and I ended up loving it. Read my review at 5 Minutes for Mom.
