No Book but the World by Leah Hager Cohen is difficult to describe, but the words intense, gripping, emotional, and intriguing all fit. From an atypical childhood, Ava emerges into an adulthood she always longed for, one that is “normal” to the casual eye. Everything changes when she learns that her brother has been arrested and accused of a terrible crime. In her search for the truth, or whatever portion of that she will be able to discover, Ava is forced to revisit her childhood experiences in an effort to save her brother.
