You Win, We’re Nominated, We Need You

I love being able to share some of the great books that we receive with you, our readers, but even more I love the community that’s developing here. It’s not just about us, it’s about all of us. Keep reading for the weekly Wednesday winners announcement. It’s coming, but first I’d like to share some good news.

We’re Nominated

Did you know that September 15 – 19 is Book Blogger Appreciation Week? Yeah, I didn’t either, until I saw that we were nominated for Best Community Builder blog in the awards that go along with them. We are in good company with Semicolon, in whose Saturday Review of Books we participate by linking up our reviews each week.

So if you’d like, go on over and vote before September 12. One great thing about blog awards is finding new ones, so if you check out the finalists, I’m sure you’ll find some great new book blogs as well.

Additionally, whether you’re a blogger or a reader, you can participate in the week and win great prizes. There’s a special contest for those who read book blogs. We love the fact that you read, that you comment, that you take our recommendations and ask us for our suggestions. Thank you! I am so pleased about the category that we were nominated in, because this was one of my expressed goals in starting this blog — not only to point towards some great books, but to start a real community. I want to take another opportunity to thank my team of reviewers, and invite you to join us. They each have their own style, and I hope that each of you have found someone who you feel that you can relate to.
