What does cleaning and bacon have to do with books?

April 1, 2012 by Jennifer

This is a book blog. Though most of us would prefer to sit around reading all day long, the reality is that there are other tasks to take care of, such as dishes and laundry and other household cleaning. Since we have to do those things whether we like them or not, I thought I’d pass along info on this fun new product (as well as a giveaway — so who can resist that??).

Does bacon really make everything better? Watch this commercial for a new product launch and let me know what you think (The video seems to be offline at the moment. I’ll put in a new link if I find it):

One winner will receive a $100 gift card as well as coupons for any full-sized Green Works product. Just leave a comment telling me if you’d pick the bacon-scented variety or a more traditional scent.

This giveaway is open to U.S. addresses only. I will announce the winner in our regular giveaway column on April 11. The Giveaway is Closed

And yeah–before you go looking at your favorite store for these products, check the date of the post. Did I fool ya? The bacon is a joke, but the giveaway is all real, so still leave your comment!

I tried clicking on the video…but it says it’s private. Guessing this is an April Fools’ thing? Because if not, I totally want the bacon scent! Yum! 🙂

I might actually get my son to do some cleaning if they actually had bacon scented cleaners! Of course it might drive the dog crazy.

Ha ha! Very cute! Happy April Fool’s Day. I wouldn’t say I love cleaning, but I do love trying out new cleaning products.

As a vegetarian I would never go with the bacon!! lol That was a good joke. I believed it!

No, not the bacon scent. I prefer a cleaner scent or lavender, I love lavender scents.

I am a traditionalist. I do not need anything bacon scented. I have enough bacon around here that is for sure….

If such a scent exists, I’d help my wife more often! Happy Fool Day!

  14. June says

I’d go with the traditional scent, not that brave.

  15. Michelle says

I would definitely choose a more traditional scent. Usually, it is the heavy scent of bacon (and the grease that comes with it) that I am trying to eliminate from my kitchen with a cleaning product. Loved the joke!

Ew, just no! I only like bacon scent when I get to eat it… any other time it just smells like grease! I actually prefer unscented just about everything.

LOL great April Fool’s joke…you totally got me on that one! I love bacon but I don’t think I could have a cleaner with that scent so I’ll stick with the more traditional scents 🙂

I don’t know about using a product that smells like bacon?

I am such an April Fools sucker. I never remember and then suckered every time. You’d think I’d learn. Ha!

  23. Jenn says

    April 3, 2012 at 11:51 am

I don’t think I could clean with bacon scented anything… it would just make me get some bacon out to fry and then the kitchen would be a mess again 🙂

Turkey bacon variety would be nice, too!

  25. Beth says
