Scholastic and Kellogg’s have teamed up in the goal of encouraging kids to read. One way they are doing that is by giving you an easy way to get FREE books in your home. Everyone knows that kids are more likely to read if there are interesting books around. I know it’s true for me, and it seems to encourage my kids as well.
Look around at Wal-Mart for Kellogg’s products marked with the Scholastic Free Book logo. And if your family is anything like mine, these are the kind of products that you buy anyway: Poptarts, Eggo frozen waffles, Frosted Flakes, Nutrigrain bars, Cheez-it crackers. This is like taking candy from a baby!
This promotion lasts through July 2012, and the number of coupons you can get is unlimited. They can be redeemed through the Scholastic Bookclub flyers sent home from school, but if you don’t get those, you can also redeem them at the Scholastic Store online (shipping charges may apply there). You can even donate the certificates to your child’s teacher so that she can select some books for the classroom.
Not only am I telling you about this promotion that I think is a lot of fun (who doesn’t love free books??), but one of you will win this fun package (which I also received in exchange for telling you about this promotion). My kids are always excited to get books, but when a box comes from Scholastic and is filled with tasty treats as well — it sort of cracked everybody up! Amanda had to snap a picture with her ipod touch (see above)
