PakNaks

August 13, 2009 by Lauren

The start of school is all about hitting the books and the importance of learning. I admit, however, that my favorite part of returning to school has little to do with knowledge. I love new school supplies. As a child, I remember rushing home on the first day of school with my list in hand. We would head to Wal-Mart to make our purchases, along with everyone else in our small town. The back-to-school aisles were the social event of the season for us elementary school kids. I absolutely loved picking out my individual supplies (does anyone remember the days of the Trapper Keeper?).

PhotobucketAt my kids’ school, the PTA buys all the products in bulk, and I write a check. As a mom, I appreciate that I don’t have to spend time running all over town to buy the necessary items, but my kids don’t participate, and all the kids’ supplies are exactly the same. When I saw the PakNak website, I couldn’t help but get excited!

A PakNak is a soft, rubbery 3-D decoration for kids. You can use PakNaks to personalize all kinds of items, including backpacks, lunchboxes, notebooks, folders, etc… The PakNaks adhere to surfaces using a strong adhesive (you stick it on like a sticker); and—this is really fun—they are interchangeable, because the actual PakNak has velcro on the back.

PhotobucketFor this school year, my son is very excited to add his sports-themed PakNaks to his backpack and lunch box. My daughter is thrilled with her dragonfly, flowers, and butterfly.

As a former teacher, I know the real reason for the start of school is learning, but heading back to class in style sure makes it more fun!

Photobucket Be sure to check out the PakNak website to find the perfect 3-D charms for your kids. After you look at the website, leave a comment here naming your favorites. Three lucky winners (U.S. and Canada) will win four PakNaks of their choice.

If you can’t wait, use PAK20 when you place an order at their website for a 20% discount.
