I am a real mom with real laundry and real dirty dishes in the sink and real children who disobey and real stresses and real messes. One thing I found appealing about Jill Savage’s book Real Moms…Real Jesus: Meet the Friend Who Understands is that she’s a real mom too. The book is full of Jill’s real life experiences as a real mom with real problems and real struggles. Her honesty is both refreshing and encouraging.
Even more encouraging is her faithful portrayal of the real Jesus and her practical insight in the difference He can make in the real lives of real moms. Our lives as moms sometimes seem to us routine and unremarkable, monotonous and mundane. We wonder, like Jill, “Can I please go to the bathroom alone?” or “Is there such a thing as uninterrupted sleep?” We too feel as if “Everyone wants a piece of me” and “I’m so tired.” And what mom, of a two year old or a teenager, hasn’t cried out “I’m dealing with disobedience around every corner!” and “I need a break!”
In each of the above perspectives (and chapter titles), Jill points the reader back to the person of Jesus Christ and God’s Truth found in the Bible. Jesus is indeed a Friend who understands and Real Moms…Real Jesus offers practical encouragement for moms to look to Him for grace, forgiveness and strength, following Him as Friend, Savior and Lord.

“I NEED A BREAK!”
Nooooo, I’ve never said THAT! At least not yet today. But it’s only 8:17 a.m. . . .
Sounds like a great book that I need to read!

I definitely need to find this book – I had teenagers and toddlers at the same time – though now I still have teenagers – but my toddler is a 4 year old! I also know of Jill Savage and almost got the opportunity to hear her speak in March, but was unable to go!

Jill,
I would like to know how you went about publishing your book. How did you get it published and did it cost you a lot of money?
