My Little Red Book

March 9, 2009 by Jennifer

Do you remember your first period? How did you feel: excited? embarrassed? mature? scared? The 92 contributors to the anthology about first periods My Little Red Book felt all of these ways.

Some essays are funny and some are informative. They highlight the sameness of our experience while bringing out differences in generations, cultures, and countries.

This book can be a great conversation starter — between you and your husband or your daughters about the misconceptions and life experience about menstruation.

This looks so intriguing! What better way to initiate a conversation with a young daughter than through a book of lots of experiences!

I was going through the blog to see what I had missed and saw this one again. It makes me laugh today because I had to help show the video to the girls at school yesterday. I’ve been singing “Just around the corner.” ever since. It was interesting to hear their questions about the topic!
