Piggy Toes Press not only has a cute name but offer a wide selection of cute books. Part of their line includes Touch and Feel Books that are a little different from titles I’ve seen from other companies and yet are still sturdy books capable of being handled by little people without too much oversight. My favorite of their books (that I have seen thus far) is Are You Ticklish Each page includes a fold out page which reveals an animal with fur, fuzz or skin to be touched. The question on each page is whether or not the animal is ticklish. My son loves reading through this book because he himself absolutely loves to be tickled. We are able to read this book while cuddling, tickling and talking about the animals which makes interacting with this book tons of fun. It has produced a good supply of laughter in our home and so I recommend this particular title quite highly!
Good Morning is appealing to us because we’re learning to greet the day in this way. Every morning I get a hug and a “GOOD MORNING, MOMMY!” (which is immediately followed up with a request for breakfast to be provided but I’ll take that too). In this book each of the animals is greeting the day and again, there are parts of each animal that beg for little fingers to touch and pet.
Lastly, the book Who Do You Love? is absolutely fantastic for family relationship. This story focuses on little bears with their relations, always asking who is loved best. Mommy? Daddy? Brother? Sister? Quite a cute book that explores the love of family in the appealing form of fuzzy bears. We are also enthusiastic about this book.
I hadn’t heard of Piggy Toes Press until recently but I have to say I am impressed with these books. If you have a kid who loves to interact with books, these make for a good introduction into the world of tactile learning. I’d say these books are best for ages 18 months and up.
Carrie comes by her book obsession honestly, having descended from a long line of bibliophiles. She blogs about books regularly at Reading to Know.

Looks like books that my 2 year old can ‘read’ to my 1 year old!! Love those!
