It’s 1904, and Thomas Ollenburger is a young man torn between two worlds. After graduating from college, he must decide whether to return to his Mennonite roots on the Kansas prairie or remain in Boston where he can pursue a career. To make his decision even more complicated, there are young ladies in both places who desire to claim Thomas’ heart. As he struggles to determine the course of his future, Thomas learns important lessons about caring for others and seeking God’s help in difficult times.
Thomas’ story is found in Where the Heart Leads by Kim Vogel Sawyer. Although this is the second book in the Waiting for Summer’s Return series, Where the Heart Leads stands alone well. I appreciated the timeless messages in the story, and I was also surprised by the ending (I like being surprised when I think I know how the story will end).
If you enjoy historical fiction, look for the Waiting for Summer’s Return series by Kim Vogel Sawyer. If you would like to win my copy of Where the Heart Leads, leave a comment on this post. We’ll announce the winner on February 4.

we read about anything in this house hold, and my reading group reads it as well, we pass it along, and my kids love books more then I’d did at their age, since I’d only learned to read in 10th grade, and I’d love books, that’s why I’ve have one room in our home committed to books, more books, and my hubby wants me to get rid of my kids books because he’d like to get rid of them since I’d no longer have anyone who’d reads them~ Other then me!~
