When a tornado drops down on her Missouri farm out of the blue in The Truth About Love and Lightning, Gretchen Brink doesn’t think much of it at first. After all, small Midwestern towns and tornadoes are no strangers to each other. But when the aftermath involves more than downed trees, specifically in the form of a man in the walnut grove who doesn’t know who he is or how he got there, she begins to realize that her life may be in for a change she could never have predicted.
In order to fully understand Gretchen’s perspective, her history must be revealed, and that history is inextricably entwined with Sam’s, the boy who loved her and left for humanitarian work in Africa forty years ago. Did the tornado bring the past back in a swirl of unfinished business?

Dawn loves escaping into a novel, and when one makes her shed a tear or two while riding the bus on her morning commute, she knows it’s a keeper. Dawn tries to blog every once and a while at my thoughts exactly.
