Well, just like Nancy said last week, this week I was wondering if any books were going to show up for me to mention as it’s my turn to play hostess for Mailbox Monday!
We’ve enjoyed hosting this August, and still plan to join in each week. We also want to invite you to participate in What’s on Your Nightstand, which is held the 4th Tuesday of each month right here at 5 Minutes for Books. It’s a chance to mention the books you hope to read that month, or spend a little time talking about what you just finished reading or a great trip to the library that has your Nightstand toppling over with books or whatever. Remember to head to Kristen’s at BookNAround for the September Mailbox Monday link-up.
As you are likely aware, we’re a team of reviewers here at 5 Minutes for Books which makes the site interesting as we all have different tastes in books and styles of writing. I tend to read non-fiction books and as I have younger children in the home, I like to keep tabs on the world of children’s literature. That explained, may I tell you what arrived in my mailbox this week?
Robotics: Discover the Science and Technology of the Future with 20 Projects
which is a new release from Nomad Press. I think my oldest will get a kick out of exploring the world of robotics. The town where I live in Oregon is home to a major university and there are a fair amount of people interested in this topic. As there are numerous competitions in the area, I thought it would be fun to begin exploring this subject with him and so we’ll check out this book and let you know what we think!
Pursuing Peace
: A Christian Guide to Handling Our Conflicts is a new release from Crossway Books – which is one of my hands down favorite Christian publishing companies. I accepted this one for review and will be reviewing it over at Reading to Know (which is my personal book blogging spot). I’ve already started in this title and it looks really, really good! (Of course, I expected to love it as I love most books put out by Crossway.)
Lastly, I received my copy of Marvel Comics: The Untold Story
and I confess to be rather excited about reading that. I don’t exactly know what that says about me and at this exact moment I don’t particularly care. I think this title is going to be plenty fun! I’ll let you know what I think of it right here at 5 Minutes for Books so stay tuned!
So now it’s your turn! Have you received any books in the mail that you are excited about? Download some titles onto your ereader or bought some at your favorite bookstore? Link up below or, if you do not have a blog, feel free to tell us what books have been brought into your home this past week in the comment section.
We love connecting with other booklovers. If you feel the same, Subscribe to our feed. Follow us @5M4B on Twitter or on Facebook, and check out our current giveaways to feed your mailbox over the next month or so!
