All the Truth by Laura Brodie is a suspenseful and dramatic read. It kept me quite engrossed when I read it on a recent vacation.
Maggie is a young girl when she is involved in a horrible incident at her house, involving her mother and several of her college students. Fast-forward nine years. Maggie is in high school, mostly a longer. Suddenly the nightmares return as she relives what she saw that night over and over. Why is she suddenly plagued by those memories?
This is the kind of book that I feel like I have to tread lightly in my review. I really don’t want to give too much away, because I want you to experience the same delight that I did as each twist and turn was uncovered, so excuse the lack of plot detail. I can say that this is a novel about forgiveness, hiding from your past, and coming out to face your future head on.
Laura Brodie managed to surprise me in a completely believable way as each element of the story unfolded. The writing was tight, yet also beautifully descriptive.
Jennifer Donovan enjoys vacations and reading. Fortunately, they go perfectly together! She tries to blog about both of these loves at Snapshot.
