What would happen if Santa’s antlered crew of sleigh pullers suddenly decided that they were tired of their working conditions and refused to do their all-important job one year? Who would Santa find to fill their roles, so that the Christmas gifts delivery could still go on as planned? These questions are at the heart of The Great Reindeer Rebellion, a new picture book by Lisa Trumbauer, with a whole bunch of silliness ensuing as Santa works to get it all figured out.
The embossed illustrations depict a slew of animal replacements volunteering for their chances at pulling the gift-laden sleigh. But cats, dogs, kangaroos, and even flamingos all seem to have certain downfalls in this position, and poor Santa is left wondering how his Christmas night travels will ever get off the ground! The adorable pictures and rhyming structure of this book make for great fun as children giggle along with the animal mishaps on each page. A happy ending is ensured for all parties involved, of course, in this new Christmas offering.
Perfect for young children and their parents to read together in the days leading up to Christmas, The Great Reindeer Rebellion provides laughs and fun in picture book format!

This one has me cracking up with the reindeer holding the “strike” sign.
