Problems with our Feed (and a quick survey)

October 16, 2010 by Jennifer

We are having problems with our feed. We’re working on it, but I’m not sure what the problem is, and we had a problem a few months ago as well. ARGH!

It hasn’t updated since Tuesday. I don’t want to keep adding new content out there that most of our readers won’t see!

If you follow us via a feedreader, please know that if you don’t see an update in over 24 hours that it’s a glitch. We post at least once a day, and usually twice a day, for an average of 10 or 12 posts a week. So if your feed reads “Children’s Classics Award Winners” day after day, click over the old-fashioned way!

I’m assuming that most people come via feed (and our reduced comments in the days since it stopped updating attest to that), but maybe I’m wrong. Will you take a minute to fill in the survey so that I’ll know?

It dumped about 6 updates in my reader yesterday if that helps?

That does help, but it’s odd, because my Firefox feed bookmark is still not updated, AND if I go straight to the feed on feedburner, it’s not updated either! Odd.

I’m hopeful that things are getting in order, because not only did this post come through on my Google Reader, but all of the posts from the week did also in one fell swoop yesterday. And it was good, because it was a fabulous week of reviews!

I agree that it was a fabulous week, so I was bummed! I held off on posting anything else until I knew it was fixed, because I didn’t want people to have to go through more than 5 posts.

Same here. They all came in at once, and this post came through as well.

Thanks Lauren. I don’t know why MY feedreader hasn’t updated, but I’m glad that someone’s has.

Yep. Mine all showed up today too (or prob yesterday; I was out of town). I saw in a comment Jennifer left on my blog that I’d won something, so I was here poking around and saw the posts that way and wondered why they hadn’t shown up in my reader. I assumed the problem was on my end (I really need a new computer!) so at least I have something to be happy about 🙂

My feed reader has not updated yet either.

Still no update to my feeder. I just suddenly noticed that something was very wrong and came over the old fashioned way. And to think, I just started using a feeder three weeks ago!
